Here I sit, writing words of encouragement while I could use a few of those myself. Woken up too early, or too late, depending on how you value your time. It’s dark out, caffeine is calling my name and the internal state of my head is as poor as the offspring of a homeless man and a woman that just went bankrupt.
Now, this little story is about perseverance. For when quitting is your current deepest desire, for when you decided that throwing in the towel is your best bet: you are full of shit. Go eat some fibers, drink some coffee and let it out.
You are correct, sometimes life sucks ass, and not in the tossing salad, fun kind of way. But you’ll have to go out and clean your act up, no matter the weather. Rain might just have a cleansing effect.
I usually don’t wake up the happiest. I won’t elaborate too much on my private life, but I’ve been dealt some shitty hands, making opening the eyelids a painful task in the morning - well… at any given time actually.
Now, what are the options? You can stay in bed, lay around, stare at the ceiling, check your phone, contaminate the mind, derail the train of thought and loathe yourself by the time you check the time. Or you can immediately get up from under the covers, laugh at excuses and attempt to thrive.
Rising bright and early might not be possible for you. But if you score one out of two that’s still a fifty percent average on a daily basis. So, promising yourself to keep your promises, setting the alarm clock and getting up when you said you would is a decent start. You can save the smile for later.
I wouldn’t listen to me about how to establish and maintain a stable amorous relationship, and the only kid I’ve ever been able to somewhat raise is myself. But I’ve earned my stripes in the field of not folding when you find yourself in the abyss. So you might want to listen there.
There is coffee, there are running shoes, there is meditation, there are books, there is an empty notepad and a pen. And you get to write the next chapter. Make it good.
