Eyes wide open, she’s excited for the day to come. She’ll see all her friends on the playground. A day packed to the brim with all she enjoys.
She snaps out of hypnagogia. Her eyes wide open. She’s afraid and relieved for the day to come. She’ll be all alone. A memorable day to finally re-encounter joy.
The warm shower. Hair and a face covered in shampoo foam. She catches a glimpse of herself in the glass shower enclosure. She bursts out laughing at the sight of the soapy monster making funny faces at her.
The warm shower. Her thin hair and emaciated face burning from the brownish water. She catches a glimpse of herself in the glass shower enclosure. Teardrops merge with the artificial rain upon seeing the sight of the pathetic monster staring back at her.
She sings along to her favourite boyband, as she’s attempting to pull her dress over her head. But she’s hopelessly stuck in the cotton maze. She climbs to the top of her lungs and calls for her mother to rush in and save the day.
She tiptoes around the room as she’s attempting to prevent him from waking up. If he catches her she’ll be hopelessly stuck in this abusive maze. She shivers after stubbing against the bedframe and rushes out to save herself from another beating.
She’s glued to the screen, fascinated by the moving images on the television. She’s absorbed by her favourite show. So much to see, so little time.
Her eyes are fixed on the road. She drives on automatic pilot as the darkness moves on. She’s focused on the highway and the destination to come. She doesn’t see anything else. There is little time.
She thinks about the future. It’s all up to her. She has great friends, she’s positive, she loves to try new things and she has a family that will always pick up when she will call. She’s marvelous and nothing stands in her way.
She reminisces. It’s all on her. Wrong friends, too rebellious, experiments with drugs until it became an addiction, always picking up when the wrong decisions called her phone. She had it all and threw it all away.
She gets up and looks outside. Cars are being started, and families are giving farewell kisses.
She arrives at her destination and stops. There’s nothing to see on the edge of the forest.
She wipes the remainder of sleepiness from her eyes.
She wipes the remainder of tears from her eyes.
She walks to the kitchen, sits down and grabs her cutlery.
She gets out, sits down in the backseat and grabs a piece of cutlery.
Her mother runs her fingers through her hair and smiles.
She remembers her mother running her fingers through her hair, she smiles.
She takes a sip of milk and cuts her toast.
She take a deep breath and cuts her wrists.
A kid excited for the day to come.
The kid’s lifeless body on the backseat of a car.
And the sun rises.
And the sun rises.
